Principal's Message

Welcome to another year at Parkside Elementary! During our first three years as a school, Parkside has set a pattern and established a reputation as a school of excellence. At Parkside, students thrive and grow each day and are loved and cared for by exceptional professionals. We are excited to carry on this tradition as we begin a new year.

As a school, we have set three top priorities for this coming year. They include:

1-Demonstrating growth and increased proficiency in reading and math.

2-Helping ELL students increase in academic language skills

3-Helping students feel more safe, connected, and resilient at school.

The realization of the goals set around these priorities requires our entire school community working together. As administration, teachers, staff, parents, and students work together to meet individual needs and do whatever is necessary to ensure success, great things will continue to happen. I encourage all parents to be an active part of our journey this year and stay in contact with your child’s teacher on a regular basis. Parents are an important and essential part of what we do at Parkside.

The great Fred Rogers once said,

“As different as we are from one another, as unique as each one of us is, we are much more the same than we are different. That may be the most essential message of all, as we help our children grow toward being caring, compassionate, and charitable adults.”

With your help, Parkside will continue to be a school where students not only grow academically, but also learn the attributes that will help them be contributing and caring adults. Thank you for the support you give our school and for being part of the Parkside family. It’s going to be a great year!

John Shelton,

Principal
